Workshop on Software Engineering in Telecommunications

Following the ongoing rapid advancements in the field of software engineering and telecommunications, we want to cover current research endeavors in this field, providing a venue for scholarly publication that explores issues relating to the combined effects of software engineering and telecommunications. It will be a forum for the Dissemination of new research in the field of software engineering applied to the area of telecommunications as well as Introduction of application-oriented researchers to leading edge new research.

We also encourage submissions from researchers in other areas of software engineering, computer science, systems engineering or other related areas of study whose work supports the focus of this conference.

Original, yet unpublished papers addressing the following topics (but are not limited to) are invited:

Workshop Chair
Stanislav Vucica, Pulsar, Croatia (stanislav.vucica@pulsar.hr)

Special Session on EMC in Communication Systems

A large amount of interest is currently generated in the area of EMC, so the speakers of this Special Session will be discussing the challenges to the EMC community in realizing communications with less impact of electromagnetic interference. The session will deal with the topics listed, as well as a contributions falling within the scope of the meeting, i.e. we seek for the original, unpublished papers on all aspects of EMC in communications including, but not limited to the following areas:

State of the art reviews and advanced mathematical and computational aspects will also be welcomed.

Special session Chair

Special Session on Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs)

Wireless access to local area networks, in particular to Internet, has recently gained a lot of interest due to technological progress in mobile communication systems and enormous development of Internet. We cordially invite speakers who wish to present original and/or review papers on the following subjects associated with WLANs:

Workshop Chair
Krzysztof Wesolowski, University of Poznan, Poland
                        (wesolows@et.put.poznan.pl)

Workshop on Bluetooth and Personal Area Networks

Future wireless is totally multidimensional, and wireless mobile and access will be converged to be more ad hoc and reconfigurable. Ad hoc will be one of the next storms in the wireless communications. As Bluetooth is expected to be the default, universal built-in radio interface in each communication device, it is assumed that Bluetooth may support ad hoc communications as well. The wireless Personal Area Networking (PAN) of mobile devices including notebooks, PDAs, Smart Phones, Web-pads, headsets, and digital cameras is driving Bluetooth development.

This Workshop on Bluetooth and Personal Area Networks will cover both theoretical and practical aspects and will provide an opportunity for researchers to meet and discuss aspects of their work in an informal setting.

Papers presenting new results in (but not limited to) the following areas are invited

Workshop on Future Wireless Communications

The increasing popularity of wireless networks indicates that most of future networking structures will be based on wireless networking technologies (Satellite, Ad Hoc, UMTS, ..). Wireless communication poses some problems that do not exist in wired networks, such as limited resources and fading due to mobility. This has generated an enormous interest for new communication protocols and enhanced traffic/resource management mechanisms.
This Workshop on Future Wireless Communications will cover both theoretical and pratical aspects and will provide an opportunity for researchers to meet and discuss aspects of their work in an informal setting.
Papers presenting new results in (but not limited to) the following areas are invited:

Workshop Chair
Mario De Blasi, University of Lecce, Italy
                        (mario.deblasi@unile.it)

Workshop on Channel Coding Techniques

The invention of turbo codes has revolutionized the field of channel coding. Their growing success and their introduction in many important international standards (UMTS for third generation mobile telephony, DVB for digital video broadcasting, CCSDS for telemetry from space) has generated an enormous interest for new or reinterpreted codes, able to approach the Shannon limit as never before.
This Workshop on channel coding techniques will cover both theoretical and practical aspects and will provide an opportunity for researchers to meet and discuss aspects of their work in an informal setting.
Papers presenting new results in (but not limited to) the following areas are invited

Workshop on Mind Brain Networks

Mind Brain Net is a new interdiscipline that offers the breakthrough in the science, technology and business.

Original, yet unpublished papers addressing the following topics in the area of Telecommunications, Computer Networks and Applications, are invited:

Workshop Chair
Branko Soucek, IRIS, Italy

Workshop on Component-Based Active Simulation Networks

The Workshop focuses on communication services for highly interactive distributed simulation applications. It is intended to provide a forum for networking and distributed system researchers to discusses advances on distributed object services, component-based object systems, active network platform technologies, and the opportunities to apply such technologies to communication services for interactive, distributed simulation applications. Perspectives on the development of new information and communication services require new considerations and the re-design of network services, especially with regard to communication topologies and configurations, computational capabilities at network nodes, and technical properties related to the quality of network service. This is especially the case of distributed interactive simulation applications and environments over the internet, where a wide spectrum of requirements appear within a communication session. The symposium seeks papers on (but not limited to) the following topic:
