    VISA INFORMATION:

    The attendees from European countries do not need visa for Croatia.
    The U.S. citizens need a visa which can be obtained at

    The Consulate covers all States on the East Coast except Pennsylvania, and the Embassy covers all other States. The U.S. citizens can also obtain visa in the Croatian consulates in Europe which are located in many major cities. It is also possible to obtain visa at the border or airport when entering Croatia, but it is recommended to do it before. If you need any further information, please write to ivan.slapnicar@fesb.hr.
    TRAVEL INFORMATION:

    Split can be reached by:

    Plane:

    Train: there is a train from Zagreb to Split at 6 A.M. It is a 10 hour ride. Price 100 Kunas (one way).

    Bus: there is a bus connection almost every hour. The ride takes 6-9 hours, depending on the route. Price: 100 Kunas (one way).

    Boat: there are several overnight trips per week from Rijeka and Italy (Pescara and Ancona).

    We ask the authors to fill in the missing information. Talk proposals are still welcome. As we have already announced, we plan to give more time per speaker (that is, a full one hour seminar instead of the usual 30 minutes lecture) if desired by the author(s), since we feel that this will better fulfill the aim of the Workshop.

    SOCIAL PROGRAM:

  • Get-together reception
  • Opening of the Split Summer Festival on July 15, 1996.
  • Excursion, a full-day sight-seeing and bathing trip on the island of Brac 10 miles from Split. There are many possibilities to organize very interesting excursions in the vicinity of Split. The price of such excursions varies between 30-100 DEM, depending on the the number of participants, means of transportation and the meals included. Thus, we will consider your checking the appropriate item in the Registration form as the expression of interest, and not an obligation.

    REGISTRATION FEE:

    100 Kunas payable at the Workshop, which includes the get-together reception and the book of abstracts. Students do not pay the registration fee.
