GENERAL
INFORMATION
LOCATION
SoftCOM '98 and
all related events (Workshops, Tutorials, Software and
Telecommunication Fair) will be held on the ship "Marko Polo". The luxury
ship
will stay two days in Split (October,
14-15) one day in Bari (October, 16) and
one day in Dubrovnik (October
17). Departure from each location to the next is
planned for the evening. The ship will be back in Split
on October 18 in the early
morning.
The luxury ship "Marko Polo" is 10000-tone five
deck ocean-going vessel built in
La Havre, France with total berth of 500 in 150 cabins
air-conditioned.
HOW TO GET TO SPLIT
by air: Split can be reached directly or via
Zagreb from all world airports. Split
airport is only 20 minutes by bus.
by
ship: Split port is daily connected by
Rijeka, Ancona, Bari (via Dubrovnik)
SOCIAL EVENTS
Split (Wednesday): Sightseeing of the city of
Split and a guided tour through
Diocletian Palace.
Hvar (Thursday): Visiting of the exciting island
and old famous town Hvar
and the old Theater.
Bari (Friday): Visiting the old temple of Bari.
Dubrovnik (Saturday): Guided Tour through the
charming old town and
walking around the town along the top of the old town
walls.
WEATHER
In October the weather in Split is very nice, with an
average temperature of about
20 degrees Celsius and the sea temperature agreeable for
bathing.
LANGUAGE
The Conference languages: English and Croatian.
PROCEEDINGS
All participants will receive the Final Program and
Proceedings when registering
at the conference desk.
